Despite the rumors, Voyager 2 is just fine

It's not dead yet!

It’s release week for my book!

My book is here!!! Stargazing: Contemplate the Cosmos to Find Inner Peace came out on Tuesday, August 8, and it’s been a pretty amazing week. I really appreciate everyone who’s bought it, requested it from their library, or said nice things about it.

I’ve gotten a lot of questions about the marriage of these two concepts — space and science combined with mindfulness and self-acceptance. To me, looking at the night sky is a personal journey. There’s a lot of emotion there, which is often antithetical to how many people write about science. But to me, it’s all jumbled up. I talk about space because I love it, because I’m emotional about it, because it inspires me. I wanted to bring all these ideas into this book, and people have told me they’ve really connected with it emotionally.

If you’re interested in picking it up, you can get it from your favorite online book retailer! Because it’s a gift book (it’s small and short! Not intimidating at all!), it’s not currently being carried in many stores, but over the next few months it will start popping up at museum gift shops and the like.

Voyager 2 is doing just fine

You may have heard some scary headlines about the spacecraft Voyager 2, currently in interstellar space, and its imminent demise. Well, don’t worry. Voyager 2 still has time before it goes silent and enters its V’Ger era. Here’s what happened with the communications glitch (and how scientists fixed it):
