Why do we all procrastinate on self-promo?
I've missed the last two months of sending out this newsletter, so consider this both September and October's issue! It begs the question of why so many of us are so bad at self-promo. When you're a weird mix of a writer, reporter, content creator, and host like me, self-promo is so important — and yet.
I know a lot of people are asking questions about Twitter (I am as well). This will likely be the last email I send through Revue as I move the archives of this newsletter (again), probably back to Substack. I'm planning on staying put on Twitter, but I'm also active on Mastodon now. You can find me at @[email protected].
Until next month! (I'll be better about these updates!)
Video Games @ Wired
It can be very hard to come up with new topic ideas every other week for a column, much less a column that's been running for two years, so I'm really happy with how Casual Gamer has progressed. (If you're wondering what a Steam Deck is, it's a handheld PC/gaming device that I'm absolutely in love with).
Star Trek: Prodigy coverage
I'm really loving the return of Star Trek: Prodigy, and I'm recapping it over at StarTrek.com. I also wrote a "here's what you forgot about in the first half of season one," in case you need a refresher (or just didn't watch it).
Star Trek: Prodigy returns with the second half of its first season on October 27.
Desi Geek Girls
We fell in love with The Rings of Power, so you'll see a running theme in our September and October episodes!
PBS's Far Out
Space Videos!
I've been getting back to creating space video content regularly. The most reliable place to find all my videos is TikTok, but I post them across social media (and now, they all have captions!)
Here are some of my favorites. Please enjoy all these thumbnails of me with my mouth open. It's just so attractive!
This supernova remnant looks really cool and is also a great opportunity to talk about how scientists color these images (and how false color space images work), thanks @ESO for the images!!

Let’s talk about that spooky JWST image of the Pillars of Creation.
